4 Performances with / avec TC2.0

4.1  Handling / Maniabilité

• The SEL20TC (680 euros) has a weight of 207gr and add 27mm height and add on top of the the Sony 300mm F2.8, we get a 600mm F5.6 of 1677g
• Considering the focal length you need to have a least 1/5000 sec and you start needing a monopod or tripod 
• Le SEL20TC (680 euros) pèse 207 gr et rajoute 27mm d’épaisseur au 300mm F2.8, on se retrouve donc avec 600mm F5.6 de 1677g
• Vu la focale , il faudra être au min à 1/500 sec et un monopode ou trépied sera un vrai plus

4.2 Sharpness / Piqué

The tests were made on a Sony A7RIV, the most demanding sensor with 61 Mpix

With the TC 2.0 the performances are declining to only very good at F5.6 but become excellent at F8 and F11

The major issue being the ISO starting to climb rapidly if you combine it with a speed of at least 1/500 sec 

Les tests on été effectués sur un A7RIV, le plus exigeant de la gamme Sony avec ses 61Mpix

Les performances diminuent à très bon à F5.6 mais remontent à excellentes à F8 et F11

Le problème principal sont les ISO qui grimpent rapidement surtout si l’on utilise une vitesse de min 1/500s

4.3 Portraits

Very nice results in portraits , with soft background blur and very nice bokeh. Very good sharpness but ISO is climbing fast (below 3200-4000 ISO)

Très beaux résultats en portraits ave sun flou d’arrière plan très doux et des beaux ronds de bokeh . Très bon piqué mais les ISO grimpent fort (3200-400 ISO ci dessous)

4.4 Distant Subjects / Sujets lointains

The performances for a subject at 200m are very good at F5.6 and excellent if you close down by 1 Stop to F8 and stays like this until F16

Les performances sont très bonnes à F5.6 et excellentes si on ferme d’un cran à F8 et le reste jusque F16

4.5 Bokeh & Color Rendering / Bokeh et rendu des couleurs

• Color rendering is still very good,
• The background blur is still very soft with the TC2.0 
• Bokeh balls are also excellent
• Le rendu des couleurs est toujours très bon
• Le Flou d’arrière est toujours aussi bon avec le TC2.0
• Les ronds de Bokeh restent excellents

4.6 AF performance at 600mm / Performances AF à 600mm

• The AF performance stays excellent
• A speed of min 1/500s to 1/1000s is recommended
• Les performances de l’AF restent excellentes
• Une vitesse minimum de 1/500s à 1/1000s sera recommandé

4.7 Samples of photos / Exemples de photos

At 600mm you start to need a monopod or tripod to ease your framing

A 600mm on commence à avoir besoin d’un monopode ou tripod pour faciliter le cadrage
