The Matterhorn backpack is the medium one from Oberwerth is can hold laptop (up to MacBook 13″), photographic equipment and travel or business items

The padded photo interior is removable and the backpack can be used then easily for business or travel needs.

The backpack consists of three individual pockets: a laptop compartment, the removable photo pocket, and the practical front pocket, for mobile phone, pens, passport, etc., etc.

The back is well padded and allows continuous ventilation at the back. The carrying straps are ergonomically arranged and also lined with a strong padding

The backpack is elegant and casual at the same time. Made in Germany from milled, full-grain cowhide leather, that is both superb looking, soft under the hand and with a nice smell

Impressions :

Discovering the Matterhorn back is like discovering a Louis Vuitton bag for cameras. All details are perfect : leather is super soft, smells good, stitchings are superb. Interior is nicely designed and versatile. Straps are very confortable. It is a pleasure to look at it and to carry it

The Matterhorn bag has a medium capacity with space for up to 2 bodies + 4 additional lenses + laptop + some accessories on the front pocket or 1 body with a 70-200 F2.8 and 2 other big lenses

Le sac à dos Matterhorn est l’intermédiaire en taille chez Oberwerth , il peut transporter un laptop (jusque un MacBook de 13″) , 1 ou 2 boitiers et leurs objectifs et différents petit objects pour le voyage ou pour votre travail

Le compartiment intérieur peut s’enlever et transformer le sac à dos pour une utilisation pour voyage ou travail si nécessaire

Le sac à dos est coomposé de 3 compartiments : à l’arrière pour le laptop, le compartiment principal avec un intérieur rembourré et une poche avant pour différents accessoires, passeport, stylos, ….

L’arrière du sac à dos est rembourré et ventilé. Les sangles de portage sont ajustables et rembourrés pour plus de confort

Le sac à dos est à la fois élégant et de forme classique. Il est fait à partir de cuir de vache grainé et tanné. Il est très beau, doux au toucher et dégage une bonne odeur

Impressions :

La prise en main du sac à dos Matterhorn s’apparente à la découverte d’un sac Louis Vuitton pour appareil photo. Tous les détails sont parfaits : qualité et grain du cuir, odeur, précision des coutures. Intérieur modulable et rembourré en robe rouge. Les sangles sont très confortables. C’est un plaisir autant pour les yeux que pour votre dos.

Le sac à dos Matterhorn dispose d’une grande capacité avec de la place pour 2 hybrides plein format et jusqu’à 4 objectifs supplémentaires + un laptop + des accessoires dans la poche frontale ou alors 1 plein format avec un 70-200 F2.8 et 2 autres grosses optiques

2 Usage

The bag is well padded and your cameras and lenses will be perfectly protected. Straps can be adjusted and are well padded. The top handle is also very confortable.

An unusual design aspect is that the bag does not open fully . You have an intermediate position at 50% with buttons , avoiding your equipment fall off if you open the bag vertically. But even if you open these buttons the opening is not at 100% but more 80% , so the slots near the bottom are less easy to use but items in it are more secure (see below pictures)

Le sac est bien rembourré et vos boitiers + optiques seront parfaitement protégés. Les sangles peuvent être ajustées et sont bien rembourrées. La poignée du haut est elle aussi bien rembourré et agréable.

Le sac Matterhorn a un design particulier : le rabat de l’ouverture principale ne s’ouvre pas complètement et une position intermédiaire délimité par par des boutons pressions ne découvre que la moitié supérieure du sac , permettant de l’ouvrir à la verticale sans risque que le materiel situé en bas ne tombe. Mais même en ayant ouvert les boutons pressions, le zip ne s’ouvre que à 80% donc les derniers compartiments sont moins facile d’accès mais aussi plus fermement maintenu (voir les photos ci dessous)

3 Conclusion (English)

Buying an Oberwerth bag is entering the world of high fashion for camera bag. Finest leather (soft , durable, nice smell) , finest zip , excellent handmade craftsmanship

The bag is very confortable thanks to the padded carrying straps and a ventilated back. It is also very versatile with a inner compartment that can be removed to transform the photo backpack in a classical backpack for business or travel

You can add a standard full set of photos equipment in it : 2 full cameras mounted + 4 additional lenses/flashes/ accessories or 1 camera with 70-200 F2.8 + 2 big other lenses. One part of the design you like it or it is that the main compartiment does not open fully but more at 80% making the bottom slots more difficult to use

The look is awesome and touching and smelling the leather is very enjoyable. I never had such a beautiful backpack and so well crafter backpack in my hands

The Backpack will be ideal for elegant city walks but not in unsafe crowded place like train station, or metro as the main compartiment could be easily opened by a thief

To summarise

• Superb leather, handmade from milled, full-grain cowhide leather Made in Germany

3 Conclusion (Français)

En achetant un Oberwerth on rentre dans le monde de la haute couture des sacs photos. Cuir le plus fin (doux, très bien travaillé, bonne odeur) , Zip de grand qualité, coutures magistralement exécutées et une finition artisanale hors pair

Le Sac à dos Matterhorn est très confortable grâce à ses sangles bien rembourrés et son dos ventilé. Il est très polyvalent avec un compartiment intérieur modulable qui peut être enlevé pour transformer le sac en un sac pour le voyage ou le travail.

On peut y mettre une bonne quantité de matériel photos : par exemple 2 boitiers hybride plein formats et 4 optiques/flashes ou accessoires. ou 1 Hybride plein format avec un 70-200mm F2.8 et 2 autres grosses optiques. Une partie du design qu’on aime ou pas est l’ouverture partielle qui se veut conçue pour sécuriser l’ouverture du sac mais qui empêche d’accéder aisément aux derniers compartiments en bas du sac.

Le design est superbe et c’est un plaisir pour les yeux , le toucher et l’odorat (bonne odeur de cuir). Je n’ai jamais utilisé un sac aussi beau et bien fini auparavant

Ce sac à dos sera idéal pour une balade élégante en ville mais pas dans des endroits bondés ou non sécurisés comme les gares ou le métro car l’ouverture principale peut aisément être manipulé

En résumé

• Superbe cuir travaillé à la main et finement grainé
• Polyvalence grâce à son compartiment intérieur modulable qui peut être enlevé
• Sangles de portage ergonomie et rembourrés pour un très bon confort
• Espace pour un MacBook 13″
• Poche extérieure avec rangements

Le prix (849 euros) est en ligne avec le très haut niveau de qualité et de finition
