1.1 Introduction

Oberwerth is a german company specialised in high quality leather bags and accessories mostly around Leica cameras but that can be used for any mirrorless cameras

1.2 The Hydro Line

The hydro line of Oberwerth is made of a special vegetable tanned leather that is hydrophobic. It is water-repellent and does not fear the rain

The leather feels like velour (very smooth)

La ligne hydro d’Oberwerth est faite avec un cuir tanné qui est hydrophobe. Il repousse l’eau et ne craint pas la pluie

1.3 M Bag

The M bag (649 euros) is a medium sized shoulder bag that can hold 2 full frame mirrorless with compact lenses + 1 extra lens

It has 2 dividers to split the main compartment as you want. A small interior pocket can be used for SD Cards storage

There is also a large front compartment for eg smartphone , batteries

The bag is handmade from 100% . Thanks to the length-adjustable strap, the bag can be worn on one shoulder as well as cross-body.

The M bag is only available in black , the strap has fine red decorative stitching and a velvety red inside lining

The SL Medium bag (849 euros) is a medium-large sized shoulder bag that can hold 1 full frame camera with a big 24-70 F2.8 lens + one extra F1.4 prime or 2 full frame mirrorless with compact lenses + 1 extra lens or 1 full frame with a 70-200 F2.8

It has 2 dividers to split the main compartment as you want. A large interior pocket can hold a 11″ iPad

There are also 2 large front compartments for eg smartphone , batteries, charger

The SL bag is a bit massive but has a classic look with its all black velvet leather. It is large enough for most usage and can carry big zoom like a 70-200mm f2.8. His adjustable strap is very convenient and confortable

Le sac SL médium M est un peu massif mais il aborde un look classique avec son cuir noir doux comme du velour. Il est assez grand pour par plupart des usages et peut transporter un plein format avec son zoom 70-200 F2.8. Sa sangle réglable est très pratique et comfortable

2 Usage

2.1 the M Bag

The bag is well padded and your camera+lens + 1 extra lens will be perfectly protected. Some additional top flap further protect is against any incoming rain. I could fit some extra SD card in the inside pocket and some batteries in the front compartment

Le sac est bien rembourré et votre boitier + optiques seront parfaitement protégés. Des volets supplémentaires sur le haut ajoutent une protection complémentaire contre la pluie. J’ai aussi pu mettre différents accessoires (ex batteries) dans la poche avant et quelques cartes mémoires dans la poche intérieure

2.2 the SL Medium

The bag is well padded and your several bodies + lenses can fit in and are well protected. Some additional top flap further protect is against any incoming rain. I could also fit a standard iPad in it as well as SD card, smartphone and Batteries+ charger in the front compartments

Le sac est bien rembourré et vos boitiers + optiques seront parfaitement protégés. Des volets supplémentaires sur le haut ajoutent une protection complémentaire contre la pluie. J’ai aussi pu mettre un iPad dans la poche intérieure et différents accessoires (ex batteries, chargeur , smartphone) dans les poches avant

The bag is very confortable and the shoulder strap can be adjusted to be worn on one shoulder or across the body

Le sac est très confortable et la sangle peut être ajustée en longueur pour le porter sur l’épaule ou en travers du corps

3 Conclusion (English)

The Hydro Line from Oberwerth display a classic look that is maybe a bit less beautiful than the Oberwerth – Louis (M11) bag but it is more discrete and protected against rain. Build quality is excellent with excellent leather (soft , durable, nice smell) , Finest lining and accessories, finest stitching , excellent handmade craftsmanship

The M bag and SL Medium can carry quite a number of bodies and lenses and will be ideal for street photography , travel or walk in nature. The choice between the 2 depends on the number of bodies and lenses you carry usually

The price (649 euros for M bag – 849 euros for SL Medium) are in line with the excellent quality of material and craftmanship

Recommended for the lovers of nicely crafted objects who still want to stay discrete

3 Conclusion (Français)

La ligne Hydro de Oberwerth arbore un look assez classique et est sans doute visuellement moins belle que par ex le Oberwerth – Louis (M11) bag, mais elle est plus discrète et ajoute une protection contre la pluie. La qualité est comme d’habitude excellente. Cuir le plus fin (doux, très bien travaillé, bonne odeur) , revêtements et accessoires les plus fins, des coutures magistralement exécutées et une finition artisanale hors pair

Les sac M et SL Medium ont une bonne à grande contenance et seront ideal pour de la photo de rue , de voyage ou une balade dans la nature si vous transporter régulièrement plusieurs optiques et boitiers. Le choix entre les deux dépend avant tout de la quantité de matériel que vous souhaitez emporter

Les prix (649 euros pour le M et 849 euros pour le SL Medium) sont en ligne avec l’excellence de la fabrication et des matériaux

Recommandé pour les amoureux d’objects de haute qualité qui veulent rester discret
