2 Optical Performances

2.1 Sharpness / Piqué

The tests were made on a Sony A7RIV, the most demanding Sony sensor with 61 Mpix

The performance are excellent wide open but benefit from a little increase in sharpness if you close it at F4 then it is outstanding

Les performances sont excellentes à pleine ouverture et deviennent superbes à F4

2.2 Vignetting & Distortion / Chromatic Aberrations / Flare

• Vignetting  is present at F2.8 but low
• There is a very little amount of pincushion distortion
• No Chromatic Aberrations
• Resistance to flare is good

Lightroom lens profile will be correcting distortion and vignetting automatically

2.2 Vignettage , Distorsion ,  Aberrations Chromatiques , Flare

• Il y a un léger vignettage à F2.8 mais faible
• Il y a une très faible distorsion en coussinet
• Pas d’aberrations chromatiques
• Bonne résistance au flare

Lightroom corrigera bientôt le vignettage et la distorsion automatiquement

2.3 Bokeh & Color rendition / Bokeh et rendu des couleurs

• With the compression effect from the 300mm coupled with F2.8 you get excellent3D effect and a completely blurry background
• The Bokeh balls are perfectly rounded and smooth
• The Color rendition is just superb
• Avec l’effet de compression apporté par un 300mm couplé à une ouverture de F2.8 on obtient de très beaux effets 3D saisissants et des fonds complètements fous
• Les ronds de Bokeh sont parfaitement ronds et doux
• Le rendu des couleurs est excellent

2.4 AF Performance / Performance autofocus

• Excellent performance : whether for static, burst mode , no issues at all – 100% hit rate
• Excellent AF also with the TCs
• Excellents performances : que ce soit en statique ou rafale un taux de réussite de 100%
• Excellent AF aussi avec les TCs

2.5 Portraits

Excellent results in portraits , superb sharpness , background blur and skin rendition

Excellents résultats en portraits avec un superbe piqué et superbe rendu des peaux

2.6 Distant Subjects / Sujets Lointains

Excellent results
