This is a fully manual lenses with aperture control on the lens (click less) and manual focusing ring, No Exif are transmitted to the body
The build quality is OK
The focusing ring and aperture ring are OK , but quite thin

2.1 Sharpness / Piqué
The tests were made on a Sony A6000 with its 24 Mpix
The results are surprisingly excellents in the centre wide open and up to F4 , corners are just a little bit behind. This is a performance to be compared with best lenses for Sony costing 5 times more !

Les résultats au centre sont excellents dès la pleine ouverture et ce jusque F4, les coins sont à peine moins bons. Une performance parmi les meilleures que l’on puisse trouver digne d’optiques 5x plus cher

2.2 Vignetting / chromatic aberrations / distorsion / flare
- Vignetting : present wide open, negligible at F2.8
- Chromatic aberrations are high
- Distorsion is moderate
- Resistance to flare is bad
- You get some nice sunstars when closed at F16

- Le vignettage : très visible à pleine ouverture , négligeable à F2.8 et disparait à F5.6
- Les aberrations chromatiques sont élevées
- Distorsion modérée
- La résistance au flare est mauvaise
- On obtient de beaux effets d’étoiles en fermant à F16

2.4 Bokeh / Color Rendition – Bokeh / Rendu des Couleurs
- The Bokeh balls are quite nice between F1.6 and F4. You can however notice the aperture blades (not perfectly circular)
- The background blur is very nice and soft
- The Color rendition is good with a tint of vintage look
- Le Bokeh est bon entre F1.8 et F4. On vois toutefois les lames du diaphragme (ronds de bokeh pas parfaitement ronds)
- Le flou d’arrière plan est très doux et agréable,
- Le rendu des couleurs est bon avec une légère touche de teinte vintage

3 Video
Video results are quite good, with smooth background blur & crisp rendering, Colors are quite vintage . You can also clearly see the flare sensitivity and the difficulty to support very contrasty scene (e.g. backlight) . The clickless aperture rings allows for smooth operations.
Les résultats sont assez bons en vidéo avec un flou d’arrière plan doux et un rendu assez piqué . Les couleurs sont vintage à pleine ouverture On remarque la sensibilité au flare et la difficulté de supporter les scènes à très fort contraste (ex contre jour). La bague d’ouverture sans clics permet de faire varier le diaphragme de manière continue et sans bruit.

The samples photos confirms the the excellent to outstanding sharpness in the centre, the very nice background blur, and the quite good color rendering with a hint of vintage look
Only the Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC DN (380 euros) can do as good in term of sharpness

5 Conclusion
The Pergear 35mm F1.8 (75 euros) is an outstanding lens for its price
With an excellent sharpness as of F1.6 in the centre (and very good corners) and a very smooth background blur it is a good as the Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC DN (380 euros) on those 2 criteria
Of course everything is not perfect, far from it
- Fully manual lens
- Visible chromatic aberrations
- Resistance to flare below average
- Build quality good but no more
- Vignetting wide open
- Colors not neutral (good but looking a little bit vintage)
- Some difficulty with very high contrast scenes
For portraits, you will get will be excellent results and your models will pop up with an excellent sharpness and contrast on a smooth blurry background
For 75 euros , it is a real bargain
5 Conclusion
Le Pergear 35mm F1.6 (75 euros) est une optique exceptionnelle pour son prix
Le piqué est tout simplement excellent au centre dès la pleine ouverture et les coins sont à peine moins bons. Le flou d’arrière plan est très doux et agréable, seul le Sigma 30mm F1.4 DC DN fait aussi bien sur ces 2 critères
Bien entendu à ce prix tout n’est pas parfait, loin de là
- Optique entièrement manuelle
- Aberrations chromatiques visibles
- Mauvaise résistante au flare
- Vignettage à pleine ouverture
- Rendu des couleurs bons mais pas très neutre avec une tendance vintage
- Des difficultés pour gérer les scènes à très fort contraste
Pour le portraits les résultats seront excellents avec un effet 3D avec un modèle Très piqué et contrasté sur un flou d’arrière plan très doux
A 75 euros c’est une affaire à ne pas manquer

Thanks! Was waiting for a review of this one, even if not very interested on buying since I read a early review somewhere that concluded it was mediocre. I’m also satisfied with my 7artisans 35mm f/1.2, but with this review I’m wondering if it would be best to sell it and get this 35mm f/1.6 since instead, the 7artisans is bad bellow f/2 (I treat it as a f/2 lens). What would you say about this, how they compare?

One little point: The Pergear 35mm f1.6 has only 10 Aperture Blades, not 12.
You can also see this in the Sunstars. There is also the false Information on the Manufacturers Website.
