The tests were made on a Sony A6000 with its 24 Mpix
The results are surprisingly excellent in the centre but corners are way behind
So perfect for portrait wide open , but you will need to close down to F8 for landscape

- Vigenetting : strong wide open , decrease a lot at F2.8 and gone at F5.6

2.3 Bokeh / Color Rendition – Bokeh / Rendu des Couleurs
- The Bokeh is very nice wide open. Even stopped down to F4 the bokeh balls remains round and soft
- The background blur is nice and soft
- The Color rendition is quite natural , better than the 7Artisans 25mm F1.8 (warm colors) and the Meike 25 F1.8 (Vintage Look) lenses
- Le Bokeh est très bon à pleine ouverture, même fermé à F4 les ronds de bokeh reste circulaires et doux
- Le flou d’arrière plan est doux et agréable,
- Le rendu des couleurs est assez naturel , meilleur que celui des 7Artisans 25mm F1.8 (un peu chaud) ou du Meike 25 F1.8 qui a un rendu très typé vintage

Video results are quite good, with nice color rendering , crisp rendering, smooth background blur. The click less aperture rings allows for smooth operations
Les résultats sont assez bons en vidéo avec un bon rendu des couleur un rendu assez piqué et un flou d’arrière plan doux. La bague d’ouverture sans clics permet de faire varier le diaphragme de manière continue et sans bruit

The samples photos confirms the very good to excellent sharpness in the centre, the nice background blur, and good color rendering
There is a boost in contrast if you close down the aperture to F2.8 and for good corners in landscape F8 is the recommended aperture

5 Conclusion
The Pergear 28mm F1.8 (85 euros) is a surprisingly good lens vs the competition ( Meike 25mm F1.8 & 7Artisans 25mm F1.8 – manual lenses)
On a Sony APC camera , the centre is excellent even wide open , and the lens score well on most criteria, the only weakness being its corners , you will need to use F8 for best results in Landscape (the Meike is better for the corners performance)
It will be an ideal lens for budget shooter for street photography , half body portrait

Le Pergear 28mm F1.8 (85 euros) est étonnamment bon dans son domaine par rapport à la concurrence en optiques manuelles ( Meike 25mm F1.8 & 7Artisans 25mm F1.8)
Sur A6000 , le centre est excellent même à pleine ouverture et l’objectif est bon sur la plupart des critères , sa seule vrai faiblesse étant le piqué dans les coins , on utilisera alors F8 pour des résultats très bon sur tout le champ (le Meike fait mieux pour les coins)
Ce sera une optique idéale pour de la photo de rue , des portrait en plan américain

Love your tests. I’m interested in this lens for some time and always searching for samples and reviews but there few out there since the lens is fairly recent. I saw your samples on flickr so I knew a review was coming, so I held back the purchase to know how this Pergear compared with the 7artisans and Meike.
Good to know this one surpasses the other two, will probably buy 2, one for the Fuji kit and another for mFT. Thanks for the review!
I should ask: did you notice any kind of lower light transmission on this lens? I’m asking because I read a few reports about that. Someone noticed almost a full stop difference compared to the 7artisans (even if there’s also reports that the 7artisans lets a lot more light in that the f-stop suggests). But also someone compared it to the Fujinon 23mm f/1.4, both at f/2.8 with the same ISO and shutter speed and the image of the Pergear was a bit darker. I wonder if there’s indeed a lower light transmission with this lens of if this is just a problem related to the heavy vignetting affecting the metering.
It’s just the vignetting, which Fuji corrects for automatically with native lenses. If you use spot metering, this lens at f/1.8 gives the same exposure as a Fuji lens
now The price of meike 25mm f2 is only 114usd in meike official site.
Should i buy pergear 25mm f1.8 instead of meike 25mm f2 for landscape and street shot?
For landscape definitely the Meike 25mm f2 is the better choice.
For street, not so much in my opinion. It may be the best optically, but the size and weight make it not very practical on the street, specially on smaller bodies. The Pergear or Meike 25mm f1.8 will be a better choice in this regard, very small and discreet.
Also landscape and street are completely different photography types with almost opposite requirements. And there’s also specific needs to evaluate, as an example if low-light photography is necessary. Compromises are often necessary, even more so in this kind of cheap chinese lenses.
Meike if more consistent from centre to border if you close down to F5.6 like for landscape
Pergear is mulch better in the centre for portraits or street photography
