1 Presentation

1.1 Introduction

Llano is a new brand for photos accessories and one of their first products for Sony are 2 stylish NP-FZ100 dual battery charger for all A1/A7/A9/A6600/A6700 with our without internal battery

The simple charger looks like a big AirPods case , you open it and you can slot 2 batteries and one SD card

The charger with integrated power bank is bigger and does not include a slot for sD card but does include a USB C out port to power eg a smartphone

The charger can be powered with any USB C charger which is very convenient as you don’t have to take a specific one with a proprietary plug. There is a little bag for transport. Its small form factor allow for an easy transport in a camera bag

Le simple chargeur assez design ressemble à une grosse boîte pour AirPods qui logeraient 2 batteries et une carte SD

Le chargeur avec power bank intégrée ne permet pas de stocker des carte SD mais dispose d’un port USBC pour alimenter par ex un telephone

Le chargeur s’alimente par n’importe quel transfo et un cable USBC ce qui est pratique car il ne faut par avoir de transformateur ou de cable propriétaire. Il y a aussi un sac de transport. Son format compact permet un transport aisé dans un sac photo

1.2 Functionalities

1.2.1 Simple charger

The case (170g) can charge 1 or 2 batteries

it accepts either a

• IN 10W 5V x 2A , OUT 8,5V x 1A x 1 battery or 0,5A for 2 batteries, or
• IN 18W = 9V x 2A, OUT 8,5V x 1,5A for 1 battery or 1 A for 2 batteries

allowing to charge in slow mode or fast mode

There is a display screen that can be activated with the button. When not charging it shows the % of charge of each battery , which is very convenient to check a battery state without inserting it in a camera. When charging you see on top a green flash

Un ecran peut être activé avec le bouton. Sans recharge l’écran permet de verifier la charge de la batterie ce qui est pratique pour ne pas à avoir à la tester dans le boitier Sony. Quand on charge on voit un éclair vert témoin

1.2.1 Charger with power bank included

The case (410g vs 170g without the power bank) can charge 1 or 2 batteries and a smartphone via USBC

It include a power bank of 12400 mAh 3.6V which is enough to charge in theory 5 Sony NP-FZ100 , its dimensions are 147 x 87 x 50mm. In practice I could only charge 2 batteries !

it accepts either a

• IN/OUT 18W 5V x 3A ,
• IN/OUT 20W QC 3.0& PD 3.0 = 12V x 1,85A
• Sony Battery compartment 8.4V x 1 A x 2

There is a display screen that can be activated with the button. that indicate the level of the power bank in %.

When charging a battery a 4 level indicator indicate the level of charge, so it is less precise than the pure charger for the Sony battery being charged

It can charges 2 batteries in 2h30 , to fully charge the battery bank it takes 1h50min

Il inclus une power bank de 12400 mAh 3.6 V ce qui est normalement suffisant pour charger 5 batteries Sony NP-FZ100, dans la pratique on recharge à peine 2 batteries !

Un ecran peut être activé avec le bouton.  Sans recharge l’écran permet de verifier la charge du power bank en %

Avec les batteries Sony intégrée un niveau sur 4 positions montre l’état de charge des batteries Sony ce qui est donc moins précis que la chargeur sans batterie bank qui lui donnait le % précis de la batterie Sony

Les 2 batteries Sony sont chargées en 2h30 et la power bank se charge en 1h50

1.3 Versions / Batteries

3 versions exist

• 60 euros charger only
• 100 euros charger with battery bank
• 120 euros : charger + 2 NP-FZ100 batteries

The batteries provided were good : after one week I did not noticed any particular difference with standard Sony batteries in term of capacity.

All cameras (A1, A7RV, A7C, A6600) supported those without any warning messages

3 versions existent

• 60 euros chargeur seul
• 100 euros chargeur avec power bank
• 120 euros : chargeur + 2 batteries

Les batteries fournies sont bonnes : après une semaine je n’ai pas noté de différences notables avec les batteries d’origine en terme de capacité.

Aucun problèmes de compatibilité ou de message d’erreur dans les A7C, A7RV, A1, A6600

1.4 comparaison with Hahnel Pro Cube 2

Compared to the Hahnel Pro Cube 2 : it is more compact, has no proprietary charger , but it miss the display of the number of mAh of the battery

Comparé au Hahnel Pro Cube 2 , il est plus compact , n’a pas de transformateur propriétaire, mais il ne montre pas le nombre de mAh qui permet de vérifier la capacité totale de la batterie

1.4 comparaison with Limeta CR2Go

The Limeta CR2Go (71 euros) also includes a battery bank (10000 mAh) but it is much smaller and is directly compatible with the 3 types of Sony batteries : NP-BX1 for rX1 or RX100, FW50 for A6xxx and NPFZ100 for A7. The CR2 GO has a better display as it show the exact charging % of the battery

Le Limeta CR2GO (71euros) inclus aussi un battery bank (10,000 mAh) mais est beaucoup plus compact et compatibles avec les 3 types de batteries Sony: NP-BX1 for rX1 or RX100, FW50 pour A6xxx et NPFZ100 pour A7. Le CR2Go a un meilleur affichage car il montre le % exact de recharge des batteries

5 Conclusion (English)

The Llano charger is a very good , well designed , easy to use charger for Sony A7/A9/A1/A6600 and the provided batteries are quite good. Price is reasonable at 60 euros for charger only , and 120 euros with 2 batteries

There is also a version with power bank included that allow to charge up to 2 batteries in total or and a smartphone (100 euros), but I prefer the Limeta CR2Go (71 euros) which is more compact , has better display and is compatible with 3 types of Sony batteries

On the improvement point it could display the number of mAh of the batteries like the Hahnel Pro Cube 2 and support CFExpress type A card which are common now on latest sony cameras

3 Conclusion (Français)

Le chargeur Llano est un chargeur pratique de batteries NP-FZ100, compact, efficace, avec % de la charge et stylé pour vos boitiers A7/A9/A1/A6600 et les batteries fournies sont assez bonnes. Le prix est raisonnable (60 euros seul, 120 avec 2 batteries)

Une version avec power bank (100 euros) existe pour être totalement indépendant et charger jusque 2 batteries ou votre smartphone, mais il est gros et je lui préfère le Limeta CR2Go (71 euros) qui de plus a un meilleur affichage et est compatible avec 3 types de batteries

Dans les point d’améliorations , il pourrait montrer le nombre de mAh comme le Hahnel pro cube 2 et supporter les CFExpress type A qui deviennent courantes sur nos derniers boitiers
